- How soon should I meet with a lactation consultant?
-
If you're between 32-36 weeks pregnant, a prenatal visit should be scheduled. This is the perfect opportunity to chat about breastfeeding and get the best tips to boost your confidence when bringing your baby home. Let's get you ready for motherhood!
- I just want to make more milk. Do I really need a lactation consultant?
-
Having an IBCLC by your side throughout your breastfeeding journey is worth its weight in gold. During my consultations with clients, many discover that their milk supply is just right, with even a little extra to store for later feedings. This way, you can ensure your little one grows at their own pace, without worrying about struggling with milk supply.
- Does insurance cover for the visit?
-
Insurance companies are not created equal when it comes to paying for medical bills. The receipts and superbills I provide after your visit contain all the necessary info for clients to be reimbursed by their insurance company.
- How do I get ready for my first visit with you?
-
It's time to relax! No need to stress over tidying or dressing up. Embrace rest and let me take care of you. Prior to my arrival let's make sure you're nourished and hydrated, so get yourself a snack and your water. I need your baby to be hungry. I'll handle everything else, even your precious little one.
- Will I get all of my questions answered in one visit?
-
All moms have unique needs, so my role as your personal consultant will vary depending on your situation. Some patients simply need my assistance with latching and have no further questions or concerns. However, I am available for follow-up questions and support after our visit. When we have specific goals for addressing issues like strengthening or tether releases, we may meet at least twice. But rest assured, we will adapt our approach depending on your evolving needs. When the time comes to wean your baby, including me in this milestone will ensure you remain fully comfortable throughout the process. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need me!
